Living with a beekeeper/gardener/once-farmer, it stands to reason there’ll be some attention to animals in and around our place and on our travels.
Honeybees
Over the years, Warren’s bees have been an educational experience for me. In more than thirty years now, I’ve been poking my nose right up into their business, and I still have never been stung. Not even that time back in the 1970s, when we moved that section of bee-tree out of the woods at night, after a few too many beers. And in close-up, they are extraordinarily beautiful.
Birds
Birds are the real challenge for picture-taking. Moving so quickly, getting a good shot always takes some luck.
Cats
And what kind of self-respecting, self-indulgent Internet photo collection would this be without a collection of cute cat photos? Although I prefer to think of our cats as handsome rather than cute, they have their monstrously cuddly moments.
Luckily for the birds, our really well-fed cats aren’t all that keen on hunting.
